On behalf of the EABC and the Delegation of the European Union to Australia, I am pleased to invite you to our annual meeting and discussion between EU Economic & Commercial Counsellors and European Chambers of Commerce which will be held in Sydney on Friday7 December 2018 from 2.30 pm and concluding at 5.00 pm, followed by drinks until 6.00 pm.

We are most grateful to Andres Reith, Partner, Business Services will generously host the meeting on behalf of our Corporate Partner BDO at their offices located at Level 11, 1 Margaret Street, Sydney.

The meeting will be the opportunity for a discussion on the Australia-EU Free Trade Agreement with special guest speakers including the EU Ambassador to Australia HE Dr Michael Pulch and Australia's Chief Negotiator for the Australia-EU FTA, Alison Burrows.

You will recall that earlier this year EU Trade Commissioner DrCecilia Malmström was guest of honour at a special event we hosted at Parliament House Sydney to mark the formal launch of the FTA negotiations in June. Ambassador Pulch and Alison Burrows will give an update on progress for the process which remains of key interest to us all.

Following this first session on the Australia-EU trade and investment agenda, the meeting will include a second session focusing on bilateral opportunities for the digital economy, including implications on trade, and cybersecurity. The European Union is Australia's most important partner for trade in service, and the panel will include BDO Partner, Cyber Risk Advisory, Alex Serrano, and others to be advised.

You will shortly receive further information on the other speakers and agenda.
