Dr. Paul Schulz is a colleague of Dr. Louise McCullough who spoke to us about strokes. Paul’s background includes internal medicine, neurology and cellular neurophysiology and he directed a basic science laboratory for 20 years examining the cellular mechanisms underlying learning and memory. At the same time, he developed a neuropsychiatry practice and is certified in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology. He is currently at the McGovern Medical School of UTHealth Houston as Director of the Memory Disorders and Dementia Clinic. Dr. Schulz researches better diagnostic tools for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), investigates risk factors for them and mechanisms underlying their progression, and directs numerous treatment trials for AD and other NDDs. He received his combined BA-MD degree program from Boston University.
