Since 2004, KhinSandi Lwin has been on a personal mission to help women develop their leadership potential when she started training women in leadership and management in southern Africa while she was UNICEF Representative in Namibia and later, as the UN Resident Coordinator in Botswana. She applies a gendered leadership development approach drawn from 35 years of experience as a leader/manager in the UN system and from training she received in those capacities. The most effective approach she learned, and enhanced, was the Women in Leadership (WiL) training by Dr. Barbro Dahlbom-Hall for UNICEF managers. She also draws from her rich cross-culture experience working in Asia, Africa and the Americas. Since retirement in 2017, Ms. Lwin has introduced men’s and mixed group executives’ leadership retreats.
She is a national of Myanmar with a Bachelor of Science in International Politics, Law and Organization, from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a Master of Science degree in Comparative Politics and Modernization from the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC, USA.
