Join us at the breakfast talk on "Why develop leadership with gender lens?" on March 23.

MPE&VCA is pleased to host KhinSandi Lwin, Leadership Facilitator, to share her insights of the women's and men's leadership retreats she's been conducting since 2004 and in Myanmar since 2014.

Says KhinSandi Lwin, "Effective leadership in these dynamic times demands a range of traits with a capability to adjust and adapt based on the situation, context and diverse personalities, backgrounds and competencies of people involved. Many leadership traits are attributed as "masculine" like being assertive, decisive and bold. To get organizational results, managing and motivating people are central requirements. This people-orientation requires what are associated as "feminine" traits, like empathy, listening and providing guidance. Both sets are essential."

"Gender socialization and early life experiences shape adult behaviors and personal attributes. When consciously viewed with 'gender lens', different patterns of behavior are apparent in how men and women engage in the workplace. Effective leadership means having these gender lens to be able to adjust, adapt and apply different attributes in different settings."
