There are multiple award categories to reflect the variety of associations in the APAC region, each with a unique set of challenges. So, whether you are a small association with no full-time staff, or a large association with multiple chapters, there is an award to suit your profile. 

Large Association of the Year Award recognizes associations of the larger size that have achieved outstanding results. The Judging Committee will examine associations' activities, members acquisition, members engagement, challenges the associations had to overcome and the associations' impact on their community.

Small Association of the Year Award celebrates associations of the smaller size that have achieved outstanding results. The Judging Committee will examine associations' activities, members acquisition, members engagement, challenges the associations had to overcome and the associations impact on their community.

Professional Association of the Year Award celebrates professional associations (also known as a professional body, professional organization, or professional society) that have achieved outstanding results. The Judging Committee will examine associations' activities, members acquisition, members engagement, challenges the associations had to overcome and the associations' impact on their community and professions.


Industry Association of the Year Award celebrates industry associations (also known as trade association, industry trade group, business association, sector association or industry body) that have achieved outstanding results, particularly focusing on their industries and members progression. The Judging Committee will examine associations' activities, members acquisition, members engagement, challenges the associations had to overcome and the associations' impact on their communities and industries.


Rising Star of the Year Award recognizes the individuals aged 35 or under who have demonstrated excellence in their first 3 years of work in the association. The award is based on the testimony in areas of leadership, career progression and professional development, contribution to overall business success, relevant accolades and achievements, and personal attributes.


The Executive of the Year Award recognizes the executives of associations who lead by example and help their associations grow. The award is based on the testimony in areas of leadership, management organization, membership engagement, community involvement, and personal attributes. The Judging Committee will also review executives' ability to drive innovation in their respective associations and the impact they are generating. 


Excellence in Technology & Innovation Award seeks to identify the associations that display innovative use of technology that clearly demonstrates next-level innovation and a breakthrough solution with significant market impact. Judged on the scope of innovation; impact on the associations business processes; success of the change management and implementation process; and evidence the technology has supported business objectives.



Scientific Association of the Year Award recognizes scientific associations (also known as science-based organizations or research-focused societies) that have achieved outstanding results and breakthrough discoveries. The Judging Committee will examine associations' activities, members acquisition, members engagement, challenges the associations had to overcome and the associations impact on their community, industry and the scientific value created.


The Best Event of the Year Award seeks to identify the events (or event series) with the most inspirational theme, speakers, and execution. The Judging Committee will consider the impact the event has had on it's members, association and the wider community. Any professional association event, no matter the industry, length, size or frequency can compete in this category where we will look for the most outstanding association event of the year!



The Best Community Programme Award will be awarded to associations with sustained effort to strengthen their links within their local communities with a demonstrated positive impact on their area. The programme should respond to a specific need in the community and should focus on the measures taken to engage with the community and all relevant stakeholders involved. Judged on the quantity, quality, impact and innovativeness of a firm's sustainability, community, diversity and inclusion, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

What are the deadlines to apply?

Award applications are open until October 31, 2019 midnight (SGT). Make sure to submit the application before the deadline to be considered. Application form for APAC 2019 Association Awards.


How much does it cost to apply for awards?

It is free to apply and besides getting the recognition in the Asia Pacific for your association's accomplishments, you will also receive a certificate, branding assets, and advertising in return. All winners will be also invited to Awards Ceremony hosted in one of the APAC metropoles. We will be also sharing a series of content on the best association practices in the APAC region with all the participants.


Can I apply for more than one award?

What is the purpose of the awards?

The purpose of the awards is to recognize and celebrate individuals and associations around the Asia Pacific, particularly those making significant contributions to the improvement of their communities. By showcasing the best practices among associations in the APAC region, we provide the best knowledge sharing so you can learn from one another. Even if you are unsuccessful with winning an award, do not be disappointed. Rather, look at this as an opportunity to improve and develop, a stepping stone to your success! 


Who is going to judge?

All nominations will be evaluated by the Judging Committee, consisting of worldwide senior-level association experts. Learn more about The Judging Committee here.


How do I nominate for an award or how can I apply?

You can apply on behalf of your association or remarkable leaders from the association you are affiliated with. Additionally, you are also welcome to self-nominate. Nominations are done by submitting online applications and confirmed via email. Once the applications have been submitted, we will notify you about the additional steps required (i.e. sending out copies of the annual report, or any additional material required if the application was incomplete or requires a verification).


What is the award process?

  1. Submit your application online before October 31, 2019.
  2. The Judging Committee will review all entries and narrow down the finalists by November 30, 2019.
  3. Winners will be announced on December 5, 2019 via the event website, press release and email.
